Paul Iaffaldano - Principal


Paul Iaffaldano has over 30 years of experience building sales and marketing driven companies. He is the founder and Principal of Accelerant Venture Capital Consulting. Mr. Iaffaldano was Executive Vice President and General Manager of The Weather Channel Media Sales Company, where he was responsible for all advertising revenue functions of The Weather Channel Companies, including cable TV, online, mobile and international. He was recognized by customers as having the leading sales organization in both television and online industries (#1 in sales performance). He received the first-ever lifetime achievement award for excellence in sales, as recognized by major advertisers. The Weather Channel companies was successfully sold to private equity for $3.6 billion in September 2008.

During his tenure, he co-chaired the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) privacy committee though difficult data ownership negotiation. In 2008, he received a technical Emmy from the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. In 2004, he was selected by Advertising Age to receive the prestigious Media Maven award for thought leadership in digital media. Mr. Iaffaldano was a founding board member of the Wireless Advertising Association (now known as Mobile Marketing Association). In 1997, Iaffaldano was part of the weather.com launch team. The organization went on to introduce many new firsts in the online advertising space including many that were later adopted by the IAB. As VP of advertising sales at Travel Channel cable network, he doubled revenue by introducing new revenue streams. At Walt Disney Company, Iaffaldano helped launch the magazine publishing division, with a wide range of titles including the award-winning “Family Fun” magazine. He won a Gold Effie Award from the American Marketing Association for his work on Celestial Seasonings, and performed distinctive work for Kraft-General Foods, Quaker Oats, General Mills, Anheuser-Busch, Coca Cola, and Sears Roebuck.

Not only does Mr. Iaffaldano hold an MBA from Loyola University and a BA from Wittenberg University, but he has also completed management training programs at Harvard University, University of Virginia, and William and Mary College.
